Lost Shore Surf Resort is near Ratho, just outside Edinburgh. It is the largest inland surfing spot in Europe and Scotland’s first artificial surf lagoon.

The resort opened to the public in November 2024. Built in a former quarry, the £60 million facility features a modern Wavegarden Cove wave pool.

The wave pool can create up to 1,000 custom waves every hour for surfers of all abilities. With more than 20 wave types, the resort offers consistent and varied surfing all year.

More than just surfing

Lost Shore offers more than just surfing. Guests can choose from 53 luxury places to stay, such as hilltop lodges and waterfront pods. Some options are fully accessible.

The resort has a waterfront bar, café, and restaurant that highlight Scotland’s lively food scene. Visitors can also relax with treatments, a sauna, or surf therapy sessions.

The SurfSkate Academy also helps guests improve their surfing skills on land.
